Toshiba of Japan recently announced the C8000 Series Regza LCD HDTV, which will be available in 37-inch (37C8000) and 42-inch (42C8000) models and packed with cutting-edge technology, as well as creating an impressive picture. The HD TV is equipped with 120Hz technology, a dynamic contrast ratio of 30000:1 and ecological function to 51 percent power savings when compared with its predecessor, the CV500s series. The Regza series C8000 can also take advantage of several features associated with HDMI 1.3 format, or color xvYCC, Deep Color and Lip-Sync Latency. All three of these features require an HDMI 1.3-compatible source (typically a late model Blu-ray or HD DVD) playback of CDs or other content encoded with these features. The Regza 37C8000 and 42C8000 will be available in Japan at the end of April and priced at ¥ 180,000 and ¥ 210,000, respectively.
